Google Adsense is the top cpc ad source for the blogosphere. The success of Adsense is owed largely to the fact that they are huge and they can supply content-related ads on almost any topic. they also have a wide variety of ad formats, which means you can stick one almost anywhere you can find a bit of white space.

But Adsense ads are so common that no matter how well integrated into the content, most visitors have developed at least some degree of ad blindness to them. They know the ads are there and they don’t bother to check them out, let alone click through.
